Because Ms. Kaylan is a very busy bee, she is only available to welcome visitors and conduct tours during specific, limited hours. In addition, Ms. Kaylan and her ambassador wolf-dogs participate in a variety of public events throughout the year.
Visitors are typically welcome on Saturdays and Sundays after 2:00pm, only with advance notification. The further in advance you can plan your visit, the better. We advise at least a 3-week advance notice. The best way to schedule a visit is to contact Ms. Kaylan directly by phone at 505-286-2088, which is a landline — NO TEXTING.
Please, be aware that there may be times when emergencies come up (Yes, this has happened before people arrive for a tour) & Ms. Kaylan has had to leave the Sanctuary abruptly with an animal that must go to the Vets office. We thank you for your understanding & kind consideration.
Tours are approximately 2 hours long, and visitors are treated to a guided tour of the sanctuary and an introduction to all the canine residents. You’ll even get to go into the pens with some of our pack members!
You should wear casual clothing and sturdy footwear for your visit, as you may receive licks and kisses from some of the pack members. Feel free to bring cameras to photograph the magnificent creatures that reside at the refuge.
A minimum donation of $40 per visitor is strongly encouraged and appreciated, because Wanagi Wolf Rescue operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All donations go directly to the care and maintenance of the canine residents.
In addition to monetary donations, the refuge accepts food — specifically canine foods and treats made in the USA, as well as freezer-burned meats — and gift cards to Clark’s, Petco, and Long Leash on Life. We also accept stuffed toys, which the animals love!
Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Come visit Wanagi Wolf Rescue and have a howling good time! We look forward to seeing you soon.
