Prema Seeks Shelter

Prema Seeks Shelter

Wanagi WR resident Prema (who is Hokshila’s “pen-mate” at the refuge) made her debut appearance at a public venue today. It soon became apparent that Prema was not really comfortable with either the crowds of interested people or the unexpected high temperatures . . . so she hid under the table to seek refuge from both. Miss Stephanie was quick to realize Prema’s discomfort and allowed her to spend much of the afternoon resting in the quiet shade ...

The Attraction of Wolves

The Attraction of Wolves

Wanagi Wolf Fund & Rescue never fails to attract crowds of interested and enthusiastic people, as everyone wants to meet the wolves! And this 2nd annual PFGW event was no exception. Wanagi WR ambassadors Hokshila and Prema (who filled in for still-recovering Bindi) were present to meet the folks who turned out today to support the efforts of this noble cause. Hokshila Loves Kids

This photo, like so many others taken at past events, shows how much Hokshila enjoys being around young children. This “gentle giant” always welcomes children of all ages to come give him a hug . . . and often he blesses them with one of his famous wolf kisses! (Photo courtesy of Andrea Westwood)

Crowds Were Awesome

Crowds Were Awesome

This event was the second one for Wanagi Wolf Fund & Rescue hosted by Pet Foods Gone Wild. Lots of enthusiastic people turned out to hear Wanagi WR CEO Stephanie Kaylan talks about the wolves and wolf-dogs at her rescue. And lots of generous folks purchased photos, 2014 calendars, raffle tickets (for the annual raffle to be held on December 15th), wolf-fur filled ornaments, and other Wanagi WR goodies. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped ...

Hokshila Weathers the Heat

Always ready to step up to the plate and do whatever is expected of him, Hokshila weathered enthusiastic crowds and unseasonably (and unexpected) warm temperatures. He posed for nearly a dozen photos while staring into the bright sunlight with nary a complaint. Bless your beautiful wolf heart, Hokshila! (Photo courtesy of Andrea Westwood)

Prema Takes a Walk

Prema Takes a Walk

This event was wolf-dog Prema’s first experience with meeting public admirers (other than when people visit at the refuge). She did her best to try to stay cool and collected, but public outings are probably not Prema’s favorite thing. Here, she takes a much-needed potty break and an opportunity to escape the heat and the crowds. (Photo courtesy of Sue Isley)

Preparing for Photographs

Wanagi WR volunteer photographer Sue Isley prepares to photograph visitors with Hokshila for a $10.00 donation. Having your picture taken with a real live timber wolf is a treat for anyone! These photos make great Christmas cards. As Wanagi WR CEO Stephanie Kaylan likes to say: “Santa has Rudolf, but we have Hokshila!” Thanks to all who supported Wanagi Wolf Fund & Rescue in this manner! (Photo courtesy of Andrea Westwood)

Stuffed Animals, Anyone?

The Wanagi WR wolves and wolf-dogs always enjoy receiving new stuffed animals to play with. A number of people who stopped by PFGW literally brought bags of “gently used” stuffed animals. The wolves and wolf-dogs wish to thank all those who donated these wonderful toys! (Photo courtesy of Andrea Westwood)
